✨ Luxury look curtains without the luxury price ✨ Luxury look curtains without the luxury price tag. The total break down of costs for this was:

Tablecloths $102
Fittings $137
Thread and backing $$60
Total $299

You can purchase fabric by the metre but these 100% cotton table cloths saved extra hemming work and came out to just $5.70 a meter which is hard to beat. What do you reckon, should I do all the rooms?

Dream complete. The mini Silk Road journey of 2024 Dream complete. The mini Silk Road journey of 2024 ended in Uzbekistan, with bathtub sized plov, history lessons, mosaics and paint, food halls, and a wine tasting run by a teetotaller. The best places you’ve never been. When people a The best places you’ve never been. When people ask me what the highlight of the year was it’s an easy answer.

Kazakhstan is just a stone’s throw from China but it couldn’t be further culturally. The regions nomadic past, coupled with about 73 years of Soviet rule has created a cosmopolitan community filled with Korean aunties selling Russian salad, carpet-clad restaurants serving horse noodles, and Russian bathhouses where you can strip naked and get kneaded and rolled like a piece of dough by local Kazakh women. No photos of that one.

Over the border is Kyrgyzstan, a similarly relaxed and friendly place filled with markets, bars, and mind bending natural beauty. Just don’t forget your international drivers license, and make sure you see Ala Archa National Park.

Crossing into Lanzhou felt like taking a transatla Crossing into Lanzhou felt like taking a transatlantic flight. From the crackling megaphones and neon lights of the big cities, this 4.5 million-strong locale is like a small town. This is where China began its sway toward Central Asia. Thousand year old grottoes painted with cross cultural love stories and the unmistakeable fluid lines of design creeping in from across the border. Still with a uniquely Chinese signature. My dream, fulfilled.

Also my first time trying donkey meat, plov, and Mongolian wild onion.

This one is: Lanzhou, Zhangye, Linze, Jiiquan, Dunhuang, Hami, and Urumqi.
